On April 25 of this year, at the Tashkent State Agrarian University was held a training seminar as part of the project “Increasing the knowledge and experience of women farmers in agriculture and agribusiness, as well as expanding cooperation between the centers organized in the system of universities”.
Rector of Tashkent State Agrarian University, Botirjon Sulaymonov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of farmers, dehkkan property and owners of garden plot of Uzbekistan Fahriddin Kushanov, a representative of the international organization CACAARI / ICARDA Alisher Tashmatov spoke at the opening of the training seminar.
The event was organized by the Tashkent State Agrarian University, the Council of farming, Dehkkan property and Owners of garden plot of Uzbekistan, the US Embassy in Uzbekistan and the Association of Agricultural Research Institutions of Central Asia and the Caucasus (CACAARI).
The aim of the seminar is to familiarize women farmers, dekhkan farms and owners of of garden plot with innovative agricultural technologies ready for introduction into agricultural production.
The main components of the quality of human capital in the agrarian sector today are special agricultural knowledge, independent work experience, knowledge and skills of economic practice. Possession of knowledge and experience will allow women farmers to better manage their business, use modern technologies, and act more effectively in the market.
Consequently, raising the level of knowledge and mastering new skills in the agrarian area, in the field of management, financial and personnel management, marketing, economic legislation and international experience will contribute to the development and efficiency of agricultural production and to involve the population in the development of the agricultural business, as at the level of small households, and at the level of large farms.
Within the framework of this project, educational-methodical manuals were published on the topics “Innovative agricultural technologies for the development of cotton growing in farms” and “Innovative technologies and prospects for the cultivation of grain crops in Uzbekistan” which will be used in the further activities of dekhkan and farms. The training seminar also included presentations on the following topics: “Innovative technologies and prospects for the cultivation of grain crops in Uzbekistan” and “Innovative agricultural technologies for the development of cotton growing in farms”.
In addition, the guests and participants visited the Innovation Development and Consultation Center at the university to get acquainted with the results of research conducted by the University scientists, where they got acquainted with innovative technologies in intensive gardening, experimental fields of grain and vegetable crops, a greenhouse based on hydroponics and fishery research.
The event was attended by heads and specialists of farms, dekhkan farms, owners of household lands of the Syrdarya region, as well as professors and teachers, students and masters of the university.
